Fabric For Kitchen Curtain

I needed to get some fabric to make a curtain for our kitchen window:

So Bowie, Bijou and I made a trip to Joann’s Fabric:

Here we are in Joann’s:

Here’s some of the fabric we saw.  (I love the the one with the bird pattern but it doesn’t match anything in our house.  My friend made a purse out of the bird pattern though, and it is really cute):

My favorite type of fabric in the whole store is the Outdoor Canvas because it is thick and durable and with 5 kids, one cat and two dogs (2 hamsters and some fish) we need all of the durability we can get:

It comes in such great colors:

This is the green Outdoor Canvas I got at Joann’s about 2 years ago to replace the red curtains I made (the red curtains were also Outdoor Canvas) in our living room:

Here are the curtains I made for our living room with the Outdoor Canvas (I also made the small curtains for the entertainment stand with the orange flowered Outdoor Canvas fabric.  You can see that post here.):

Here are some of the Outdoor Canvas I was looking at for the kitchen window:

Pretty blue flowers:

I ended up picking out this blue but didn’t like it.  It made everything look way too blue so I dropped the idea of an all blue curtain:

Then I went back to Joann’s and found this yellow, green and red fabric:

I put it on an expandable curtain rod above the kitchen window to see if it would look good.  (We are also going to be painting the kitchen so the gray-blue paint will be gone eventually.):

Here’s another pic showing some more of the kitchen when I did my lamp redo which you can see here.  I think the colors of this look really nice.  They just add the right amount of color to the blue scene:

Here it is again:

Now that I have picked that, I have to make the curtains and I know how to make them really really quickly.  I will be doing that this week!
