Easter inspired pastel yarn wreaths that were super easy to make!
I am always looking for crafts that I can recreate at home with my kids so one day last spring I saw the cutest yarn wreath in Target and thought….I can make that! So I did…..
I bought some straw wreaths and some yarn. You can pick any type of yarn you want to and any color but the thinner the yarn, the more times you will have to wrap. I got the wreaths and pastel yarn at Michael’s Craft store.
Tape the end of the yarn to the back of the wreath. I just kept the plastic on the wreaths so the straw didn’t fall out. Then just start wrapping it around the wreath. You have to keep the pieces of yarn lined up one after another, neatly next to each other. I found that you can cover a whole wreath with one roll of this type of yarn. Here is my youngest daughter, Bijou, wrapping and wrapping and wrapping and actually doing a pretty good job at getting the yarn evenly wrapped around the wreath.
Keep wrapping the yarn around and around and around and around the wreaths.
This is my older daughter, Crescentia, taking a turn.
Here are the finished pastel yarn wreaths on the left and right. In the middle is another wreath I made by doing the same thing with the yarn around a circle I made out of tin foil.
Here are the yarn wreaths again.
Pastel yarn wreaths…perfect to brighten up the winter and to ease into spring!
